- TFAH releases Climate Change & Health Report
This morning, Trust for America’s Health released a new report, Health Problems Heat Up: Climate Change and the Public’s Health, which examines states’ preparedness and planning for the potential impact of climate change on the health of Americans. The report provides an overview of the health threats posed by climate change, such as heat-related sickness, respiratory infections, natural disasters, changes to the food supply, and diseases carried by insects. Key indicators include: which states have climate change plans that include a public health response; which states have climate change commissions with public health representation; and which states receive federal funds for Environmental Public Health Tracking, asthma control, and tracking insect-borne diseases.
