ANHE Research Workgroup

Current Co-chairs:  Betty Bekemeier and Wade Hill

Staff: Robyn Gilden

anhe-logoThe focus of the Research Workgroup is to frame and support an agenda for enabling nurses to solve environmental challenges to health through the creation of new knowledge. As a recognized nurse researcher focused on environmental health, we would be delighted if you would consider joining the Research Workgroup.

Because ANHE has a strategic goal to support nurse researchers we would like to provide access to resources not found elsewhere. Planned resources include:

  • Access to the Science

The ANHE Research workgroup is currently developing resources that will enable nurse researchers to more clearly understand the “state of the science” surrounding nursing and environmental health. Currently, no single central repository exists that provides nurses an understating of how far we have come and how far we have yet to go.

  • Access to the Funding

The ANHE Research workgroup is designing a mechanism that will provide members frequent updates and reminders about funding opportunities tailored to our interests and expertise.

  • Access to the Issues

The ANHE Research workgroup benefits from close partners working in advocacy, practice, and education. Critical research questions arise from these relationships and the resulting research agenda reflects the most current and pressing challenges of our profession.

  • Access to the Experts

The ANHE Research workgroup will serve as a repository for expert consultation through its membership. Searching for mentorship, student advisement, or technical assistance in the multidisciplinary work of environmental health will be facilitated through our linkages.

The Workgroup, currently co-chaired by Dr. Wade Hill of Montana State University and Dr. Betty Bekemeier of the University of Washington, meets the first Wednesday of the month.
